Pokémon Stadium 2 Secrets

In Pokémon Stadium 2 (PS2) there are a few little qualities that truly spice up the way we play Pokémon in general. In PS1, there was the ever so soggy surfing pikachu, and everyone's beloved Dodrio gameboy that cuts our leveling up by 2/3 of the time invested.

This guide will simply give the reader insight as to what perks PS2 has.

And, heeeere they are!

  1. Special TM

  2. Conquering Round 1 & 2

  3. Unlocking Doduo & Dodrio Gameboy Towers

  4. Baton Passing Fafetch'd

  5. Earthquaking Gligar

  6. Handy Dandy Things

Special TM

This allows any Pokémon to re-learn an old move that it would have previously been able to learn leveling up. It can be particularly useful in situations where Pokémon that are caught in the wild on a level higher than that of which they would learn a certain move.

Example:  Ho-oh on Crystal is on Lev.60. You want it to learn Sacred Fire, but it doesn't have it. Instead of killing someone in a fit of rage, or crying your eyes out, you can perform this nifty task to forget a move it already knows, and learn Sacred Fire once and for all.

How do you do this you ask?  Beat the Elite Four, and Lance.

Conquering Round 1 & 2

I personally viewed this task as extremely annoying, as I was going for the goods, rather than the satisfaction of just beating the game. Once you do, however, you're halfway to unlocking all your wildest dreams, of course, unless you use a game shark, in which case they've probably already been fulfilled.

To beat R1, you must complete all cups in Pokémon stadium, little, challenge, etc, and you must do it to the highest degree. In other words, master ball if the cup goes that far. Challenge cup seems to be the most difficult to some players, but can truly temper ones adaptability.

Also, one must conquer both the Johto, and Kanto Gym Leader Castles. This includes the Elite Four, Lance, and Red, who resides in Mt. Silver.

After the above has indeed been fulfilled, the mondo-n00b team of your Rival appears. He will prove to be the last obstacle between you, and ultimate victory.

To defeat R2, do the same crap over again.

Unlocking Doduo & Dodrio Gameboy Towers

For those of you who were diligent enough to accomplish this task, you will be very happy you have done so!

Doduo gameboy is basically normal gameboy speed x 2.

Dodrio is, consequently, x 3.

To receive the Doduo gameboy for R/B/Y game carts, one must conquer either the Gym Leader Castles (both), or the Pokémon Stadium cups.

To receive the god-like Dodrio gameboy, one must defeat the Gym Leader Castles, AND the Stadium cups.

To receive the Doduo & Dodrio gameboy for G/S/C one must repeat the same exercise in R2, as done in R1.

Baton Passing Farfetch'd

After beating your Rival, you receive this as a present. It comes with Baton Pass, Sword Dance, Agility, and Slash. It's OT is "Stadium" with an ID# of 02000. It's origin, as determined by either speaking with the Pokésage, or looking at your Pokémon's stats on stadium are ???, ?????, and Lv.5.

Neat-O-eh?

Earthquaking Gligar

To receive this poisonous bundle of joy, repeat in R2 what you did to receive Farfetch'd in R1.

It comes packed with Earthquake, Poison Sting, Counter, and Wing Attack. It's OT, ID#, etc, should be the same as Farfetch'd.

Handy Dandy Things

Once you have 150+ Pokémon caught on your game cartridge, you will be able to move Pokémon on and off either Stadium or other carts qualifying (150+). This removes the often loathsome process of trading Pokémon from one game to another.
