Oracle - Get a Real Life, Train your Pogeymanz!

  • What is wrong with the Pokémon community today

In a word: sentences

  • |-|4xx0rz

There is nothing worse than hackers breaking into things and editing them (I smell!) so they actually end up all turned around and insulting (of goats!) the writer (Lolz! W4r3z r00lz!). That's a mod's job.

Hi fans!

Equally so, there is nothing more pitiful than a grown man or promising adolescant - no doubt excluded from playing with the other boys and girls because this was THEIR sand-pit - stooping to what can only be described as spoiling the other kids fun. For no reason? Let the armchair psychologists argue that one out but perhaps the juvnile merged tongue of nacho & l33t 5p33|< from they keyboards of liary hypocrites is more honest than it seems.

No, actually, I'm not talking about Darryn.

He'll keep for paragraph-after-next. I better remember to actually do that…

You see kids: two wrongs do not make a right. And for the smarter kids: Two hex values of one do not make a decimal two. ("Some members of the Pokémon community were born, others were invented" ~ Darth David informing the lamp at the bottom of the stairs - his only confidant - that he was 'narked') I'm talking about when someone inoccently advertises their chat channel perhaps not realising they are in breach of the other kids Club House Rulez, and their channel is flooded. I'm talking also about French orphans who spend their childhoods cleaning Paris with a toothbrush to earn enough money for an education leading to an English PHD (A qualification worse than prison according to Bennet), which they get, and then they log on to a Pokémon chat, say potahto instead of potaeto, are declared 'n00b' and considered fair game for muchos abuse. (Spanish) I'm talking about being nice to people. Argh. You know what I'm talking about.

I'm slagging off hackers and their ilk by the way, if anyone's a little lost. Many people will raise their mouse in support of me there, but if they shark, I denounce their grievances. Isn't it so, that the most infamous Pokémon hacker is arguably also the most infamous sharker or easily the more accomplished? What does that say about us? Can we differentiate between the two? No! Isn't it so that the perception is that its okay to flood, abuse or alienate (through the very name) 'newbies'? Isn't it also such a popular line that sharking is right, assuring the 'seasoned veteran' (who is seasoned because he only comes out his room on Halloween) who has played the game past the limit is not outwitted by the random stats of 'unskilled newbie'? Thar be that word again: newbie. It allows us to do anything we like to people, links sharking and hacking in a way more honest and profound than noughts or ones. That kids, is what the grown-ups call 'biggotry' and 'racism'. It's bad.

I'm saying if you did the equivelant of sharking against a sharker they wouldn't like it - why should I play fair respecting clauses in PBS against people who would shark to beat me in real life? Real life has clauses too you know. By this treating others like you would yourself outlook its easy to see that something is wrong.

  • Sharking

You didn't think I was talking about that just there did you…?

Ok, so I was a bit…

OK, so I can't actually remember…

I might do a whole article about this one day. Any idiot who has a single Iyse, sorry, IQ point (I don't know why I was thinking 'Iyse' there…) knows that using a cheat device is wrong. I'm not saying some wont justify it (and I'm not stooping to the playground tactic of making broad judgements on the intelligence and thus credibility of sharkers…). You just know its wrong. Its easy to justfiy doing wrong things because that’s what justifying is all about, less easy to justify something that everyone from the apple just knows.

I wil delve into the acrimonious issues, the morality of sharking at a later date but deal with its effect here. People. Don't. Care. Kids aren't playing anymore, they're snorting ROMs and all sorts - pretty soon this isn't a game its computer programming. Start taking shortcuts, taking the game apart and you will not play, or enjoy it like you used to. I used to use an action replay and game genie on my SNES and NES respectivley (incidentally I once used the former to create a time of 0.4s on F-Zero and sent it in to Nintendo Magazine's top score factory to see if they'd…yeah, sad. Hey I was like 11!) and as soon as I 'd turned on infinite lives or a level skip, of course the game held no challenge and I did not care to play it anymore. Would you plug away at school or a job if you could just become a millionaire and retire at sixteen? Not as satisfying but…People shark. People don't play anymore. People stop caring. There is no Pokémon community when this happens.

Maybe an example of that breakdown is #pokebattle's R rating…in a 'Pokémon discussion' channel. Don't deop me! I said maybes!

Sorry I've been so serious and almost rant-y for all this time now. I really do feel for you, the reader. NOW STOP MOANING AND LISTEN TO ME!

  • Prejudice

This is really pathetic!

(Reader: And that's only the column…)

I seem to remember when myself and the Marble Palace staff put our feet on PD's tables everything was very great, we were all elite, we'd won this tourney and that tourney - it was cool to be a PD'er or at least it was better than being a TPM'er. Neo-Nazis take note. Recently I was reprimaded for referring to PD by an anonymous person informing me 'PD is for losers'. PD IS FOR POKEMON TRAINERS! SO IS AZURE HEIGHTS - SO IS MARBLE PALACE! IN FACT, IT’S THE SAME PEOPLE! Just in different tents and a different order. Don't get me wrong, I believe Marble Palace "ownz them all" but my point is best demonstrated thus: When we, this is the older kids, were at PD, people there insulted Fanha and pals. Now Fanha is very accepted as a cool character (kudos to him for gsbots and the like). Its now everyone associated with Darryn that we're to hate. In our minds there is formed two camps - and at any one time we're in at least three. Frequently - too frequently - people are described as pojo'ers and whatnot.

Cut it out. Stop putting people into categories!

We're all equal. None of us 'sub-human'.

Don't be a Nazi.

Odduh reasonz:

  • Bad spelling

  • Good Spelling

  • Honour System

  • Branners (joking!)

  • Stupid Clauses

  • I've forgotten this point but its bound to be very cool

  • Fic writers who are arrogant when they're supposed to be the saviours of pogeyman

  • The word 'referance'

  • Microsoft

  • The World

I've been Darth David.

You've been a reader.

This is my soap box.

Stay away from my bins.

YEAH!

Mon the workers!
