There are many new additions to Pokémon Crystal as well as modifications to certain events that occur differently in Crystal than in Gold and Silver.

1 - Some Pokémon learn different moves, for example; Suicune learns Aurora Beam at level 41 instead of Bubblebeam.

2 - Pokémon are animated at the start of a battle in Crystal.

3 - When you change or enter to a City or Route, a wooden-like sign appears at the bottom of the screen telling you what City or Route you're in.

4 - At the start of the game, you can select either to play as a boy or a girl.

5 - Some Pokémon are found in different locations.

6 - A new trainer called Eusine will challenge you.

7 - Another new addition to Crystal is the excellent Move Tutor who appears after you have beaten Red. He appears outside of Goldenrod City. You need the coin case, for 4000 coins, he'll teach one of your Pokémon; Flamethrower, Ice Beam or Thunderbolt.

8 - There's a Battle Tower next to Oilvine City, challenge your skills by battling against 7 trainers and win rare items.

9 - After you free the legendary dogs, Suicune will be outside in the open fields of Johto.

10 - Trainers will be trading different Pokémon.

11 - When you beat Clair, instead of going to the Dragon Den and getting the Dragon Fang, you must enter the Dragon Shrine and answer a series of questions to get the badge.

12 - There is a new radio show hosted by Buena which you can win items such as Rare Candy and Carbos.

13 - The mystery of the Unown Puzzles can be found once you show the man a certain item which he requires. Unlock the secrets of the Unown!

14 - New special items can be received. An 'Odd Egg' is one of them.

15 - Pokémon Crystal unlike Gold and Silver is for Gameboy Color only.

16 - Goldenrod City has a rooftop now and there is a Fountain in the National Park.

17 - You'll be able to obtain special Pokémon. for example, an Extremespeed Dratini.

18 - Some Pokémon look different, i.e. Spinarak is green instead of purple.

19 - New Pokédex info for every Pokémon.

20 - Various other misc. enhancements to the game.

* Dratini (With Extremespeed)
(1) -
(2) -

* Sudowoodo
(1) - Defeat Whitney. Talk to the girl in the flower house which is located next to the Gym.
(2) - Now, goto the place where Sudowoodo is, talk to the girl there, she'll return home.
(3) - Back to the flower house, talk to her and she'll give you the Squirtbottle, use it on Sudowoodo.

* Suicune
(1) - Goto the Burned Tower and scare the Legendary Dogs away.
(2) - Receive the Clear Bell after helping the Radio Station Manager.
(3) - Find Suicune in these places:
* Right out of National Park.
* Below the bush by Mount Mortar.
* Up in Cianwood City.
(4) - Defeat Wise Trio and fight Suicune in Tin Tower.

* Lugia
(1) - Get Silver Wing from the man in Pewter City.
(2) - Now you can enter the Whirl Islands and catch Lugia.

* Ho-oh
(1) - Capture the 3 Legendary Dogs.
(2) - Tin Tower stairs appears, climb up and battle Ho-oh. Be sure to catch it!

Only 3 Pokémon are allowed to participate in the Battle Tower.
Until you beat the Elite Four, you can only battle at Lv10, Lv20, Lv30 or Lv40. After you beat them you get to battle at Lv10-Lv100.
If you got a, for example; Lv26 Pokémon, that means that you can't battle in the Lv20 and must battle in Lv30. Makes sense, right?

All the trainers in the Battle Tower are very strong, often their Pokémon are equiped with items, I myself haven't beaten all of the trainers yet so I dunno what those 'prizes' are.
